Synopsis

Sometimes there’s no tragic event.
Sometimes there’s just sadness. Just numbness.
Sometimes it’s just a depression you can’t understand.

When Alara’s depression reaches its pinnacle she’s left feeling broken, vulnerable, and more than a little uneasy about moving forward. And although she’s made it to the other side she discovers that the hardest battle may simply be moving on and accepting the hardship she’s been given. Because by all accounts she should be happy, but she isn’t and she still can’t understand why. So she’s moving forward, but with the weight of her guilt and the constant fear of another episode, is she really living? Or has the fear of another episode become just as crippling as the episode itself?

Then she meets Gabriel, a grieving soul struggling to get past his mother’s death and figure out his future. As he reconciles his past and begins planning his future, it becomes clear that he wants Alara in it. He wants the sarcastic, fearful girl that always seems just a little bit out of reach. But will the girl who’s never been able to see a future give him a chance? And when he discovers her darkness, will he still love her through it?

Will she let him?

Review

Unveiling the Sky is an emotionally breathtaking tale that took complete control over my body, mind and soul right from the beginning and held on tight until the very end! Alara and Gabe’s story wholeheartedly engulfed every inch of my heart, causing me to experience ALL THE FEELS! I once again found myself inhaling every moment of their story and falling even more in love with them the third time around (yes…it really took me three times reading this phenomenal story to FINALLY find the right words to express my thoughts).

Jeannine Allison shows readers the TRUTH behind depression that causes us to take a deeper look into ourselves and those around us. As someone who has an up close and personal experience with depression, I couldn’t be more proud of this author for the impact she has made by writing this story. She does not hold back any punches and makes sure that readers experience every emotion possible while following these two on their journey. Alara and Gabe’s relationship struggles at times and their up and down moments have you feeling all twisted inside, and that is the beauty of their story. It’s not perfect, no relationship ever is. They show us that we have to live in the moment, not looking back to the beginning and most certainly not waiting for an ending. LOVE is about being with the one you couldn’t imagine your life without and these two certainly show readers just that!

This story happened to be the author’s debut novel back in 2016, but you would not have expected that because of her captivating storytelling ability! If you only read one book a year, you NEED to make sure it’s Unveiling the Sky! Trust me…YOU WILL NOT REGRET READING THIS STORY! Alara and Gabe will forever hold a special place in my heart for as long as I shall live!

About Jeannine Allison

Jeannine Allison is an author of contemporary and New Adult romance. After waffling between many degrees in college, she finally graduated with a BA in English Literature from Arizona State University.

She loves writing and reading — obviously 🙂 — but when she’s not she enjoys playing with her two dogs, obsessing over new makeup, drinking coffee, googling new tattoos, and pretty much anything else that allows her to wear yoga pants and a sweatshirt 😉

She is a big fan of being exactly who you are. Her favorite stories to write are about characters finding and loving who they are.

Synopsis

My heart doesn’t beat, it ticks.

It’s been that way since I was sixteen years old and I caught my sister in bed with my boyfriend.

I gave my heart to a boy who didn’t deserve it, then spent the next few years indulging in hard drugs and even harder sex.

Life is easier when you don’t get attached. Casual. No commitments. That’s the rule. At least it was before he came along.

Cash Davidson is the tattooed prince who walked into the restaurant where I work and turned my life upside down.

He is everything I never knew I needed. There’s just one problem.

Tick
Tick
Tick

He’s my best friend’s dad.

Boom.

Review

Tick…Tick…Tick…💥

Cherry Bomb by Carmel Rhodes is an explosive love story that set my heart on fire, burning bright as I inhaled every captivating word these characters had to offer. Cherry Valentine and Cash Davidson’s forbidden romance is a ticking time bomb just waiting to explode at any moment as their secret love continues to blossom.

The chemistry between these two left an intense ache deep in my chest and it’s one that slowly obliterated my heart. The angst level was so perfectly intertwined throughout the pages that it had me on the edge of my seat the entire time I was reading. My attention was entirely captured by their story that I ended up reading it in just one sitting…yep that’s right, I didn’t put it down once until I reached the very end.

It’s hard to believe that this was the first book I have read from this author, but I am so freaking glad that I came across this phenomenal story and gave it a chance. Forbidden romances are my jam and this talented lady ended up writing one of my new favorite reads! I cannot freaking wait to see what this author comes up with next and I can only hope to see more of these characters in future interconnected books!

He’s controlling, aggressive, and downright wrong for me.
But what he dishes out,
I give right back.
After all, love hurts.
And so do we.

Review

Hearts and Bruises is A.M. Brooks debut novel, but you would not believe that after reading this emotional and angsty as f*ck story that had me wholeheartedly captivated within the first few words on the page. The moment I began reading I was instantly sucked in and found myself devouring this story in one sitting because I was completely invested in every second of Nora Sutton and Darrian King. Their romance started off with a bang right from the very beginning and before I knew it, I was falling hopelessly in love with them. Suddenly without a single warning, things drastically changed between them and the entire dynamic of the story took a turn I certainly did not expect. However, I absolutely loved every single twist and turn that the rollercoaster ride of their relationship took me on!

My chest was beating in overdrive and all my heartstrings were being pulled in a million different directions as their story totally engulfed my every thought and emotion. At times I found myself right on edge, wanting to scream out in frustration from all the angst that surrounded these two. Who knew that loving someone could cause so much pain, but oftentimes the truth will set us free!

There is so much more I want to say, but it’s impossible to comprehend all of my emotions right now, especially after that shocking ending. I cannot wait to dive into the next book, Hearts and Flowers, to see what’s in store for the next part of Nora and Darrian’s journey! If it’s anything like the first book, then I know I am in for a bumpy ride…

How did the notch on my belt turn into a ball and chain?

Review

Jacob Chance is the KING of sports romances and oh my goodness his newest release has me falling even more in love with this genre and his unique writing style. The Boston Terriers Hockey series gives fans of the original Boston Terries series an opportunity to check in on some of our favorite past characters and see what they have been up to since we have last visited!

CHECKED is one of my favorite books from this author and I can’t even begin to tell you all how much I freaking loved Clancy Wilde and Tenley Davenport’s story! The moment I started reading I couldn’t put it down and before I knew it, I was reaching the last page…even when I didn’t want to let them go. Their story took me on a rollercoaster ride of feels and I devoured every moment these two had to offer. Not only did I love the romantic aspect of this story, but who the heck doesn’t love a good surprise baby romance? I know this girl sure does! I absolutely loved how their relationship progressed throughout the story and how much they both grew as well! They have definitely become two of my favorite characters from this author and I am totally hoping for the chance to see more of them as this series continues!

Synopsis

I want you . . . even when I hate you.

Blaze Townsend: I hate you.
Charisma Rossi: I hate you more.

She’s been expecting this ever since their latest showdown. She had good reason.

Hottest guy she’s ever seen.
Former fling.
Dumped her in front of all her friends.
At her own party.

So no, she’s not about to forgive and forget just because he sits next to her in class. He thinks all he has to do is turn on those baby blues, and she’ll melt right back into his arms. Please. She’d be crazy to let this cocky player affect her again. (Tell that to her body.)

Charisma Rossi.
Brainy girl with a dash of bad.
The one who got under his skin.
The one he cut loose.

Blaze knows she’s the riskiest prospect at Waylon University, but none of the interchangeable girls he hooks up with have ever made him feel the way she did. There’s absolutely no way he can have the girl and the game.

So why can’t he stop trying to win her back?

Can this wide receiver score the girl or will he make the biggest fumble of his life?

Review

Ilsa Madden-Mills manages to beautifully illustrate the true meaning of love…from the hurt and pain to the good times surrounded with happiness. Blaze and Charisma’s story sure had its fair share of ups and downs, and the angst sent my heart into complete overdrive as I was wholeheartedly captivated by every moment of their complicated journey. These two take readers on a rollercoaster ride of emotions that left me wanting to reach through the screen of my kindle to give them each a big hug as they are both imperfectly broken from experiences of the past.

Charisma is a smart, sweet and sassy gal and Blaze is not your not so typical jock who is confident on the outside, but if you look a little deeper you see the pain he has suffered from and tries to hide. Reader can instantly see the undeniable chemistry between them, but both have been hurt before and sometimes it’s hard to open yourself up to someone who could be your other half because the thought of losing them is unbearable. I hated how stubborn they were at times and just when I think things are FINALLY starting falling in place, something unexpected happens. They slow burn romance kind of feeling definitely melted my heart time and time again!

Charisma and Blaze were definitely one of my favorite couples and I am so glad this phenomenal author finally decided to give us their story…oh and also managed to perfectly intertwine glimpse back into past characters…Ryker, Penelope and let’s not forget my favorite smarta** bird, Vampire Bill!

To love.
