Synopsis

Almost sixteen-year-old Aria Jones is starting over. New postal code, new last name, new rules. But she doesn’t mind, because it means she can leave her painful regrets behind. In the bustling town of Eastmonte, she can become someone else. Someone better.

With the Hartford family living next door, it seems she will succeed. Sure, Cassie Hartford may be the epitome of social awkwardness thanks to her autism, but she also offers an innocent and sincere friendship that Aria learns to appreciate. And Cassie’s older brother, Emmett—a popular Junior A hockey player with a bright future—well… Aria wishes that friendship could lead to something more. If he didn’t already have a girlfriend, maybe it would.

But Aria soon finds herself in a dicey moral predicament that could derail her attempt at a fresh start. It is her loyalty to Cassie and her growing crush on Emmett that leads her to make a risky move, one that earns her a vindictive enemy who is determined to splinter her happy new world.

Review

Be the Girl by K.A. Tucker is a beautifully written inspirational coming of age story and a heartbreaking tale of redemption. This happens to be the first book that I’ve been fortunate enough to read from this author and let’s just say I am now a huge fan of hers! This story managed to captivate my attention wholeheartedly and it was nearly impossible for me to put it down, which is probably why I devoured it in one sitting. Seriously it consumed every part of me and I was left with an ache deep in my chest.

Aria’s story is one that I believe all teenagers should pick up and read because of the important message behind it. There is so much I want to say about this story, but it’s hard to really tell you all anything without giving away too much of the storyline. This is definitely one of those stories that needs to be experienced firsthand. It is the kind of story that will forever change the reader and open up their eyes to the truth behind it. This is a must read story of 2019!

Synopsis

Ari

When you’re young you think you know it all. I was fortunate enough to live in a world where poverty was just something I’d heard of, but never experienced. Until, I took a chance on the boy from the wrong side of the tracks. The chemistry undeniable. Our worlds collided and I fell hard, we both did. I needed him to stay and when he didn’t, it broke my heart. So I grew up and moved on. I didn’t know who I was back then, or what I was up against. But I do now. I won’t make the same mistakes.

Torren

I made mistakes, I thought I knew what I was doing. Turns out sometimes loyalty and stupidity go hand in hand. I took the one thing I needed most and I pushed her away with my actions. Sent her running in the opposite direction is more like it. When fate brings us together again, I desperately want to make things right, prove to her that I’m not that guy anymore. Time has done nothing to put out the fire between us, but she has no plans to let me be a part of her future. I’m about to change that.

Review

How Not To by Devin Sawyer was a beautifully written second chance romance filled with a lot of heart and emotion. It’s still hard to believe that this is the author’s debut novel because it’s the kind of story that will instantly reel a reader right in and keep them hooked until the very end. The characters were captivating and the storyline was intriguing. The slow burning romance between Ari and Torren drove me crazy, but it the best way possible. Oh and have I mentioned that I love a good wrong side of the tracks kind of romance because oh boy does this story deliver! I even found myself laughing and crying many times throughout.

While I didn’t necessarily love everything about this book, for a debut novel it was very enjoyable and would certainly read more from this author in the future! I would strongly encourage giving this book and author a chance!

Synopsis

“Girls like you aren’t exactly welcomed at a place like this, so keep your head down and look the other way.”

Those were the exact words of my social worker when she dropped me in my newest hellhole, a place for “troubled teens”.

I didn’t listen, and now I’m on their radar.

They expect me to play along in their games of hierarchy, to fall in line in the social order they’ve deemed me fit.

Too bad for them, I don’t follow rules.
Too bad for me, they’re determined to make sure I do.

Inconceivably attractive and treated like kings…these are the boys of Brayshaw High.
And I’m the girl who got in their way.

Review

HOLY FREAKING MOLY! WHAT THE F*CK DID I JUST READ?! Let me just start off by telling you all that this story was everything and I do mean EVERYTHING! The storyline was BEYOND EPIC and so UNLIKE anything I have ever read before. The angst factor was cranked WAY UP HIGH and I wasn’t sure if my heart could keep up with the intensity of the story, which definitely isn’t surprising with this author. Last year Meagan Brandy quickly became one of my favorite authors and I have not missed a single one of her releases since. Her stories are one of a kind reads that will ALWAYS captivate you wholeheartedly and leave you in a trance!

Boys of Brayshaw High is technically a young adult romance, but let me tell you that it is not your normal sweet run of the mill kind of young adult read. This story was seriously messed up (of course in the best way possible) and was addictively captivating from beginning to end! I found myself trying to catch my breath many times throughout when the intensity came to hard to handle. The Boys (Maddoc, Royce, and Captain) and Raven (Rae) will immediately hold a special place in your heart whether you want them in there or not, but of course you will! Trust me these characters are hard to resist, not that you would want to anyway. These are hands down some of the BEST characters I have ever read! I mean come on Meagan Brandy how the heck did you come up with these phenomenal characters? What inspired you to write them this way and tell their story like this? I NEED ANSWERS WOMAN! LIKE NOW!

This story is just releasing and I am already shouting that I need book 2…like RIGHT NOW! Meagan Brandy is going to slowly k*ll her readers with the wait, especially after that AH-FREAKING-MAZING WHAT THE F*CK cliffhanger ending! I am still screaming NOOOOO at the top of my lungs. Please tell me that we won’t have to wait that long…OH PRETTY PLEASE with cherries on top!

Synopsis

When I accepted the teaching position in a town the size of my thumb, all I cared about was making some money until I was ready to pursue my dream.

My time here was supposed to have an expiration date.

My plan was simple.

Until her.

The girl with a cupcake and fascinating sadness.

Her beauty got my attention first, then her loneliness and melancholy captivated me.

Her words and pain fed my interest, but it was her heart that sealed my fate.

I came to this town with no expectations.

But I didn’t know my dream and muse was waiting for me in a school uniform.

Review

Teach Me Sweetly by Abby Gale was beautifully written with a storyline that flowed quite nicely. Readers won’t have any problem getting into this story and they will definitely be able to enjoy it in one sitting because it reads fairly quickly. Evangeline “Eva” and Elijah were a sweet couple and their story was one of a kind. I thought some of the twists were a nice surprise and I was entertained until the very end!

The moment I saw this cover and read the blurb I knew that I needed to read the story because it happened to be from my favorite trope! Also who doesn’t love a good forbidden romance with a kickass cover?! No one…that’s who! I have to say that while I really adored this story, I didn’t necessarily love everything about it. I did like the concept of the story and the characters weren’t horrible, but it just didn’t give me the warm fuzzies that I usually get when I read a story like this. I wanted to fall head over heels in love with it, but it just never happened. However, I still had a great time reading it and wouldn’t mind diving into another book from this author soon! Still can’t believe this was my first read of hers!

Review

The Fallback by Mariah Dietz was simply amazing and I read it in one sitting! This happens to be only the second book I have read from this author, but I have a feeling I will be changing that soon because if all of her books are this good then I have been seriously missing out! While I really liked Brooke, I have to admit that Levi completely stole my heart!

My heart broke for Brooke because of her cheating ex, but if it hadn’t been for that experience she never would have met her prince charming, and holy moly Levi is just that! Their relationship was a slow burning one and my heart was set on fire…I legit got the warm fuzzies in my stomach as I devoured every inch of this story!

This is a heartwarming tale that will captivate every inch of your soul, and leave you head over heels in love with these characters. It was beautiful and unique…a definite MUST READ!

Review

Jewel E. Ann is absolutely brilliant and oh my freaking goodness A Place Without You had my heart beating in overdrive! This extraordinary story was one of my last reads of 2018 and what a way to end the year. The storyline wholeheartedly captivated my every thought and emotion, leaving me in a total haze as I devoured every word of it in one sitting. I am a huge fan of forbidden romances and this book is definitely one of my top reads in this trope. Hands down one of the best things I have read in a longtime!

Henna and Bodhi are like the ultimate book couple…seriously they were EVERYTHING and I am insanely in head over heels in LOVE with both of them! They were absolutely the PERFECT match and they completely stole every piece of my heart! These two took me on a rollercoaster ride of emotions and I am literally (okay not really, but you kinda get the picture) D.E.A.D right now from this story because it left me breathless. I unexpectedly found myself experiencing emotions that I have never experienced before…emotions I didn’t even know existed. This is one of those stories that will stick with you forever and leave you craving more all at the same time. I knew that I never wanted this story to end and I was so sad to walk away from this amazing couple, but as they say…all good things must come to an end. Oh and what a fantastic ending it was!
