Synopsis

Sometimes your life is split by a single decision.

I’ve spent every day of the last seven years regretting mine: he left, and I didn’t follow. A thousand letters went unanswered, my words like petals in the wind, spinning away into nothing, taking me with them.

But now he’s back.

I barely recognize the man he’s become, but I can still see a glimmer of the boy who asked me to be his forever, the boy I walked away from when I was young and afraid.

Maybe if he’d come home under better circumstances, he could speak to me without anger in his voice. Maybe if I’d said yes all those years ago, he’d look at me without the weight of rejection in his eyes. Maybe if things were different, we would have had a chance.

One regretted decision sent him away. One painful journey brought him back to me. I only wish I could keep him.

*A contemporary romance inspired by Jane Austen’s Persuasion*

Review

Staci Hart what is the world have you done to my heart? Although I have read other books written by this extraordinarily talented author, nothing could compare to her latest release A Thousand Letters. Words are escaping me right now because of this emotional story that wholeheartedly captivated my heart and has completely consumed my current emotional state of mind. I have no clue how to even being because every single thought in my mind is lost in the world of Elliot and Wade. Their story has ignited and burnt a passion deep inside my heart!

The desire to finish this story made it nearly impossible to concentrate on anything but Elliot and Wade’s story. I was in my University library taking a break from studying because I just needed to know and I thought heck I only have about 15% left. BIG MISTAKE… Not because I was disappointed by the ending, but because this story had me bawling my eyes out in the library and at one point I felt as if my entire breath was sucked right out of me. If I thought I couldn’t concentrate before I was sadly mistaken that this story would redeem that fact.

A Thousand Letters  made it neatly impossible to comprehend a single coherent thought for the rest of the night. Truth be told I didn’t really feel aware of my surroundings until I woke up the next morning. I honestly don’t know when and if another book will ever compare to this one for as long as I live. Staci Hart if you weren’t one of my favorite author’s before, you are now.

About Staci Hart

Staci has been a lot of things up to this point in her life: a graphic designer, an entrepreneur, a seamstress, a clothing and handbag designer, a waitress. Can’t forget that. She’s also been a mom, with three little girls who are sure to grow up to break a number of hearts. She’s been a wife, even though she’s certainly not the cleanest, or the best cook. She’s also super, duper fun at a party, especially if she’s been drinking whiskey. Her favorite word starts with f and ends with k.

From roots in Houston, to a seven year stint in Southern California, Staci and her family ended up settling somewhere in between and equally north, in Denver. They are new enough that snow is still magical. When she’s not writing, she’s sleeping, cleaning, or designing graphics.

Caden Brooks is Alabama’s star quarterback. He’s got it all. The attention of adoring fans. A girlfriend who’d do anything to hold on to him. And a future in the pros. He’s getting along just fine until Finlay steps into his life, despising him at first sight and pushing his buttons like no other.

Unfortunately for Finlay, and her attempt to keep Caden at arm’s length, there’s nothing Caden loves more than a challenge. The problem with this challenge is she comes with a secret that has the power to destroy everything.

Review

Words can’t even begin to express how much I absolutely adored this beautifully captivating and perfectly written story! For Finlay happens to be my first experience into J. Nathan’s amazing writing stroll and I can say without hesitation that I certainly wasn’t disappointed for a second! Immediately upon finishing this story I went and one-clicked all of her previous books and I plan on reading them all as soon as possible. I must say that I experienced so many emotions during the few hours it took me to devour this extraordinary story!

Finlay Thatcher’s entire world was drastically turned upside down just a short two years ago when she lost her other half – her twin brother Cole. Ever since losing him, she has struggled with reevaluating her life without him in it. Readers watch as she slowly begins to come out of her shell when she relocates to Alabama to attend the school her brother planned to before his untimely death. There’s just one little problem…or should I say person standing in her way of happiness.

Caden Brooks’ is Alabama’s star quarterback and the one that took over her brother’s place on the football team. After the death of Finlay’s brother, Caden becomes the guy who has it all, from the attention of the fans to a future in the pros, which was Cole’s ultimate goal in life. When Caden meets Finlay there’s an instant attraction between the two of them, but she continues to keep him at arms length because of who he is and the sadness he represents in her life.

For Finlay was a relatively fast paced story that readers will easily find themselves devouring in one sitting. It was nearly impossible for me to put it down because I was captivated by this uniquely beautiful tale. I am looking forward to seeing more of these characters and the secondary characters in the near future!

About J. Nathan

J. Nathan is the author of the new adult novels For Finlay, Before Hadley, Until Alex, and Since Drew. When she’s not writing, she’s a total romance junkie! Add an alpha male who’s unlikable in the beginning…even better. Happy endings are a must. Love triangles and negative people are the bane of her existence. Her family, friends, guys in backwards hats, and watermelon margaritas are the light…
