Bea Norwood had the market on normal.

But that was until the day her mother remarried. The day that changed everything. When her best friend’s cousin, Liam Falcon, is sent to live with his aunt and uncle to clean up his act, Bea finds herself falling for the boy next door. With their hearts so infinitely entwined, Bea turns to Liam as her only escape from her new step-brother’s daily torment at home. Bea thought their love could conquer anything. But she was wrong. The same girl who shattered it six years ago without looking back.
Liam is hell-bent on seeing Bea again after six years, but what he finds tears his heart in half. Bea Norwood is a shell of the girl he fell in love with. Underneath the baggy clothes, and pale skin, he knows she’s still in there somewhere, he just needs to find her. Liam will stop at nothing to win his girl back, but sometimes, ignorance is bliss, and Liam isn’t prepared for Bea’s truth.
Ache by S.M. Soto is the kind of story that brutally rips your heart right out of your chest and tosses it into a burning pit of fire. My entire body was left aching in pain after devouring this gut-wrenching emotional second chance love story. This is not your typical love story. There are moments throughout when you will feel battered and bruised by the raw intensity of the storyline and then there are moments when you will be full of hope and happiness.
Bea’s story was heartbreaking and I couldn’t stop the tears from streaming down my face. The author tackles a difficult subject matter, but she does so in a way that brings out the emotion and makes a huge impact. Liam is Bea’s happily ever after and shows her that love can conquer all…but only if she’s willing to accept the help. She shows the true struggle behind the power to fight, survive and heal.
S.M. Soto was brilliant and she captivated every part of me. This story needs to be experienced by all survivors because it shows the power you have to fight. Hands down one of my top reads of 2019 and this story is officially my favorite from this author. A must read for sure!
