He said it would only hurt a little…

On her sixteenth birthday, Sleeping Beauty pricked her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel. On my twenty-second, I pricked mine on the needle of a tattoo machine wielded by a beautifully complicated man who would go on to become my ruin.

Madden Ransom was a lol of things. Unfeeling. Opinionated. Rebellious. A tattoo artist with no tattoos, the man was an enigma and then some.

And while Sleeping Beauty fell into a peaceful slumber as she awaited true love’s kiss, I fell into something else entirely—my heart in the hands of a man who’d never given nor received anything remotely like love.

I know now that when Madden told me it would only hurt a little … he didn’t mean the tattoo. It turns out you can’t un-love someone, even after you find out he’s the last person you have any business loving. And that is the most painful truth of all.

Or it was…until his last confession.

When I discovered Winter Renshaw earlier last year I immediately fell in love with her writing style and her unique storytelling. So when she announced her next release I could not wait to get my hands on it and my goodness the second I did I could not put it down. I legit devoured every moment of this story in one sitting and my heart is still beating in overdrive hours after finishing. Seriously I have to tell you all that this story left me completely breathless and it was one of those stories that you never wanted to end and yet it feels as if ends way to freaking fast. I guess that feeling is what happens when you open a book a few minutes after midnight and read every part of it by two o’clock in the morning. Hands down one of my favorite Winter Renshaw books to date!

Pricked is one of those reads that will wholeheartedly captivate every inch of your heart, body, and soul. This is the kind of read that will definitely leave you with a major book hangover…even before you reach the last page. Brighton Karrington and Madden Ransom might seem like total opposites, but truthfully I do believe that these two were destined to be together, even if people are determined to keep them apart. These two are honestly one of my favorite book couples ever and I am hoping…maybe even praying a little that this will not be the last time I see them because their are many supporting characters that I believe have their own stories to tell! FINGERS CROSSED because I desperately need MORE!
