A FORBIDDEN LOVE SET IN THE EXPLOSIVE WORLD OF THE NBA…
Think you know what it’s like being a baller’s girl?
My fairy tale is upside down.
A happily never after.
I kissed the prince and he turned into a fraud.
I was a fool, and his love – fool’s gold.
Now there’s a new player in the game, August West.
One of the NBA’s brightest stars.
He wants me. I want him.
But my past, my fraudulent prince, just won’t let me go.
Long Shot is the kind of story that will leave you raw and exposed to your emotions. This is not necessarily an easy read because it deals with some heavy topics, but let me say that the intensity of this story will leave you breathless and on the edge of your seat in anticipation until the very end.
This was unlike anything I ever expect, but it was an extraordinary read and I couldn’t have imagined this book any other way. While this is technically a romantic story about August and Iris, it’s Iris’s story through and through. Readers will witness her undeniable strength and determination as she fights tooth and nail to protect the ones she loves. Iris is the definition of strength and her growth throughout the story was amazing to watch. At times this story gripped my heart so tight and brought tears to my eyes, but the ending was worth it. This story gives readers hope that there is always something better out there for us. Never settle and remember to always follow your heart because it will never lead you astray.
Long Shot is an incredibly captivating and emotional raw story, but it is perhaps one of my favorite reads because it shows that events in life do not define us. It is our strength that we possess that will heal us in even the worst experiences of life. I strongly recommend this book and I cannot wait for Lo and Kenan’s story next!
