There was a naked man sprawled across my front yard.

Not half naked. Not metaphorically naked. Literally stark, bare-butt naked.

Single, lacking cooking skills, and too awkward to function, Isla Matthews is content to spend her nights alone, curled up on the couch with her cat.

When she’s not knee-deep in the personal lives of her embarrassingly zany friends, she can be found struggling to keep afloat the cute, little flower shop her parents left her after their deaths. Having thrown aside her dreams of being an artist, Isla’s almost convinced herself she’s happy with her safe, comfortable routine.

That is until a super-hot, Australian man shows up naked in her front yard—her new neighbor, Leo Wayland.

As far as Isla’s concerned, Leo is the stuff that neighbor nightmares are made of. An irritating, free spirit with no boundaries, he eats her food, uses her hot water, and, worst of all, saunters around shirtless, causing her to have all kinds of inappropriate thoughts about him.

But as much as Leo rubs her the wrong way, Isla can’t deny that he is filling up her lonely nights with his annoying smirks, making her laugh again, and daring her to change, one day at a time.

Maybe, just maybe, Leo Wayland is exactly the smoldering intervention Isla needs to get her life back on track…

Komal Kant has done it yet again! Every single book that I’ve read from this extraordinary author has been a slam dunk, so I was super ecstatic when the author reached out and offered me an exclusive ARC of her newest story in exchange for an honest review and I quickly jumped at the opportunity! The first book I ever read from Komal Kant was Impossible (With Me #1) and I instantly fell in love with her With Me series! Since this book is so different from any book I’ve read from her, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I started reading this book. However, after reading the first chapter I was immediately hooked.

My Leo Wayland:

The title, The Jerk Next Door perfectly summarizes exactly what this book is about… We initially meet Leo Wayland through Isla Matthew’s eyes when she opens up her door to see a naked man sprawled across her front yard.

“Not half naked. Not metaphorically naked. Literally stark, bare-butt naked.” – Isla Matthews, Chapter 1 – The Jerk Next Door.

Not only did she get a nice view of his a**, but man his Australian accent just added to his overall hotness. Instantly taking a dislike to him, she attempts to avoid him at all costs. Unfortunately, he doesn’t seem to get the picture when she continuously shows up at her house…generally shirtless. Their attraction is undeniable, but she refuses to admit her feelings in fear of rejection. Instead of giving into her attraction she continues to push Leo away even though he continues to push back. As their one of a kind friendship begins to blossom Isla learns that Leo isn’t who he pretends to be and she starts to see a new side of him.

My Isla Matthews:

Although I don’t want to give away too much of the story away I will tell you that this book is worth giving it a try. Not only does this story have amazing main characters, but the secondary characters add so much to the story. I loved Isla and Leo’s character development, but Jac and Thanh and Henley and Arun tug on my heart strings throughout the course of this entire novel. I strongly recommend giving this book a chance even though there are some people that didn’t enjoy the author’s vision. Trust me because you won’t regret it!
